Getting to Zhengzhou: You can take direct domestic or international flights to and from Zheng Zhou or take a high-speed train from Luoyang, Beijing, Shanghai and Xian. The airport shuttle bus costs 22 RMB and is centrally located, so you can take a taxi from the airport to your hotel as long as you bring the name and address of the hotel to show to the driver, preferably in Chinese. If you are travelling to a new city in China, you should take taxis, as they are still quite affordable and more comfortable than buses.
In Zhengzhou visitors can visit the Shaolin Grottoes and view relics of the ancient world, including Songyue Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in China and one of the few 6th century pagodas in the world. One of the few 16th century pagodas that need to be kept properly and the only known Chinese brick pagoda that has been worked to perfection. Take the minibus from the airport and drive to the city centre or to Zheng Zhou city centre, which is just a short walk away.
